What Our Rocket Scientist Has To Say On Perfection

Moon

We had a brilliant Contacts and Cocktails on Thursday, in fact, we were SOLD OUT! It was an absolute joy to see so many smart business owners getting on as if they were best friends! My knee has been playing up, and I hobbled into town, couldn’t put my right foot on the floor without shouting OW! But the show must go on!!!

There were quite a few people I’d met on Instagram while doing an Insta Challenge a few months ago, so it was brilliant to finally meet them. As you know I love it on there!

We were talking about one of my Instagram posts last week. Here it is…

Maybe you’ve got a touch of perfectionitis?!?!

If you do, it’s best to be treated as a temporary state, so it allows you to move on.

Are you rationalising yourself?

There’s a few symptoms of perfectionitis. You may have noticed how one day, you go to press publish on your blog or go to press the red dot on the video on your iphone to go live on facebook, and then……. your internal dialogue starts rationalising the situation and before you know it, you’ve changed your mind and talked yourself out of it and your hands are stuck, in analysis paralysis, hovering over the buttons?

Stop it! If it’s perfection you’re after, you need to start doing imperfect actions.

It’s the best way to get things done. Just do it, then learn from it. So go for it!

Take action, learn, tweak, repeat!

This rocket scientist can help you.

Allow me to introduce you to someone very special.

I was speaking to one of my clients who came to Contacts and Cocktails on Thursday. Introducing to you Eleanor Barber, who by day, IS a rocket scientist. Yes really!! I don’t know how many times I’ve heard in training courses, the phrase… it’s not rocket science?! So, OMG! Imagine how excited I was to meet her, as she IS a rocket scientist.

This lady LOVES detail. So much so she has designed a satellite that is orbiting the earth as we speak. I know, right!!

In her job, she’s surrounded by perfectionists, but as we were talking about, trying to have everything perfect, doesn’t help.

Listen up…

Here’s what Eleanor our resident Rocket Scientist says about Perfection….

What she said!!!

Take a tip from a rocket scientist today, and remember, it’s good enough.

Have a great day and take imperfect action, learn, tweak, repeat.

Let’s go…To your success and happiness!
