How to stop that overwhelming feeling and make progress.

How are you feeling today? In control or are you feeling a bit overwhelmed? If the latter, you’re not alone. Many of us are feeling different in this lockdown 2.0, it’s harder, more trying and tiring.

I think many of us were running on adrenaline and the fine weather in the first lockdown. It’s a bit tougher for some this time around, and we need to remember to make time for our self-care. Do you? I know I need to up my exercise and make time to go for walks every day again and get on You Tube and find The Body Coach, Joe Wicks. He was great in Lockdown 1!

What’s your goals for the rest of the year?

We’ve only 5 Mondays until Christmas, (including today!)

As entrepreneurs we will no doubt continue to rise to the challenge, but we need to be kind to ourselves even more and remember more self-care is needed. Hope you’re doing ok? Please do reach out if you need extra help. We have wonderful health coaches and mindcalm coaches in our community.

For example, are you stiff from sitting at your desk all day or have bouts of aches and pains you want to get rid of for good? Karen Chappell at Bodyloqic can help relieve you of shoulder, back and neck pain in her online clinic and Sharon Bannister in Islington, London is able to open her clinic for Craniosacral Therapy sessions to help stressed-out and overwhelmed executives feel more relaxed, revitalised and back on their game.

Check the links on their names above if you would like to get in touch with them, or please pass on their details to your friends if they need them.

So, what have you got on today to help you move towards your goals?

Do you have a lot on your to-do list and want to be more productive and more focused to get things done?

Remember to chunk your list and..

take a breather in between different tasks.

Pause.

Breathe.

Have some transition time. Even if it’s 5 or 15 minutes in between calls or zooms. Look after your own energy.

Another great question to help you stop that overwhelming feeling and make progress.

When faced with something you’re not sure if you should do it, ask yourself, “if I say yes to this, will it help me work towards my goals?

If yes, what’s the first step?

If not, say no! You can park it. Look at it again when you can have more time.

What do you need to say no to this week?

It will free up time for things you want to say yes to.

Last week I helped a few other business owners in a Power Hour go from overwhelm to feeling more in control, which also cheered them up!

Do you need some extra support?

If you’re looking for some support, please don’t sit there struggling, get in touch and see how I can help you. We have a great network of people I can connect you with.

Talking of networks, we have two more events this year.

Contacts and Coffee is on Thurday, 26th November. Come and meet up, catch up and get recommended within our community of like-minded business owners.

And come and get your jingle on at Contacts and Cocktails where we’ll be joined by the fabulous Mr Wil Watts from Madam Geneva and Gent who is treating us to a funny Happy Quizmas too. We’ll have a good night in!

To your success and happiness,
