What Changes Can You Make Today?

Phone Call

This weekend I’ve been driving through the leafy, windy roads of Surrey and staying with friends in Richmond, London, and took 4 boys under 13 years of age to play Ten Pin bowling. I got one strike out of 10!

Which reminded me of the element in sales training that’s changed. When helping people to get a good perspective on how much activity, how many touch points they needed to do, we used to say you usually hear 9 people say “No”, before you hear 1 person say  “Yes”.

I’m referring to making phone calls to prospective clients, and while that is still one of THE best ways to improve results, I’m pleased we have many more ways to stay in touch now.

Sales is all about relationships, and with social media being so prominent and the vast array of ways people can contact you, connect with you, send you messages and ads so you experience their brand and ways they can help you, there’s many more touch points now.

So, it’s more like 1 in 15, before you get the strike.

What’s your strike rate?

What plans do you have in your diary to get in touch with clients and prospects in September? Do you have lots of meetings booked? Do you have follow up calls booked in? Networking events booked? Facebook Ads set up?

While you’re feeling refreshed, focus your attention on these vital business development activities this month, and see how you can improve your strike rate.

Check out your LinkedIn contacts, who has made comments on your posts?

Who has sent you a Request to Connect message?

Accept their request, send them a quick message back and see if they have time to chat.  I wrote about my Top Tips on working LinkedIn more, a couple of weeks ago. I got a lot of great feedback from the blog called Do you Do This on LinkedIn?  Read it here if you missed it, or want a recap.

Top Tip…Get to the point!

As we have so many messages coming in from all directions, when you’re on LinkedIn, a succinct introduction, clearly stating how your services can help their business, or why you’d like to talk to them, will work wonders.  Get to the point quickly with your reason for getting in touch.

Especially today, as so many people are back at their desks, going through numereous emails and catching up.

Who said to you… “let’s talk when I get back in September”?

Get in touch today!

Who have you met networking over the summer, that you’d love to catch up with again?

Maybe they’re coming to Contacts and Cocktails on Thursday?  A cheeky reminder there for my facilitated networking event! If you’re in London and would love to meet like minded ambitious business owners, come and join us and let’s see who we know who can help you.

Enjoy the focus for the new season and here’s to you meeting and exceeding your goals and targets for 2017.

Here’s another way I helped someone improve their strike rate.

During a client’s first session with me over summer, I noticed something on her website that she could do to improve her customer’s experience, and after implementing the change, in 2 weeks, she gained 6 new clients. 6!

Sometimes we can’t see it ourselves, that’s why we need help from others.

So, if you’re feeling overwhelmed with trying to work it all out by yourself, I’d love to help you too.

Get in touch and we can arrange to talk.  But hurry! Time won’t wait.  It will be December before we know it!! Are you stuck? Call me and I’ll shed some light on your current challenges and plan for a brighter future. That’s what I call an AmberLife.

What do you want to see happen next?

I’m here to help and support you make it happen. Let’s go!

To your success and happiness.
