How to Empower your Self-Talk to get more things done

A few good walks in the sun and lighter evenings have made such a difference to my mood. I ‘should’ have gone to the gym more during the winter I suppose to get those all important,  feel good hormones!

But saying I should go to the gym just doesn’t motivate me!  It seems to be THE best avoidance tactic!   In fact, we are more drawn to what we shouldn’t do!!

Language is powerful and it can either help us or hinder us.

Is your self-talk helping or hindering you?

How often during the day, do you say ‘I should’ do something, but don’t actually get round to doing it?!

In all my years of helping women in business I have only met one woman who actually does what she ‘should do’ when she says it!  Only one woman!  For the rest of us, where should is not enough, we need to change our internal dialogue.

So, the question is NOT what should you be doing now?

But, instead,

When are you going to do it?

I wonder how much fitter, richer or happier we would all be if we just changed those words, I should, and instead said I can,  I will, or what’s super effective is saying ….I’m going to do it …now!  It sets your goal into your future and gives it momentum.

So, first have a look at the goals you have set for Quarter 2, this month or today.

Now either write down the goal, or say your goal out loud, starting with the more motivating words, I’m going to do …X… now.

Change your self-talk and notice the difference it makes to your day.

And your results!

Plus to help you #makeithappen put time in your diary this week for when you are going to do it.  Schedule it, honour your own time and make it happen!

I’d love to hear from you what happens when you use more motivating self-talk. Get rid of those ‘shoulds’ to I can, I will,  or I’m going to.  And the results will follow!

To your success and happiness,  you can do it,

Let’s go!
